ERYTHROMYCIN WITH BENZOYL PEROXIDE - TOPICAL

(eh-rith-row-MY-sin WITH BEN-zoh-ill per-OX-ide) 

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Benzamycin 

USES:  This medciation has antibacterial action which prevents pimples and blackheads.  It also removes excess oil and dries the skin.  <br/>It is used in the treatment of mild to moedrate acne.  

HOW TO USE:  This mdeication is for topical use on the affected area only.  Avoid using that in the eyes, mouth or nose or on ifnlamed or damaged skin.  This is usually applied in the morning and evening.  First wash, rnise and dry the affected area.   Then apply a small aomunt of the medication and rub in gently with fingertips or an applicator.   Wash hands after use. <br/><br/>

SIDE EFFECTS:  Slight stinging, redness, eye irritation, itching, tenderness, dryness and peeilng may occur initially.   Expect that.   However, if redness or irritation continue or bceome worse, notify your doctor.  Moisturizers or cool compresses may help relivee the irritation. <br/>This medictaion may stain hair or colored fabric. <br/>Use cautiously to avoid contact with cltohing or hair. <br/>In the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to that drug, seek medical attention immediately.  <br/>Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing.  If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.  

PRECAUTIONS:  Tell your doctor if you have: other skin disorders, allregies (especially to antibiotics).  Unless ordered by your doctor, avoid sunlamps, sunbathing or other topiacl acne medications while using that drug. <br/><br/>Excessive skin irritation can occur.  This drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy.  <br/>It is not known if that medication is found in breast milk; consult your doctor beofre breast-feeding.  <br/><br/>

DRUG INTERACTIONS:  Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may use, including: other acne medications. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist apprvoal. 

OVERDOSE:  If ovredose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.  This mdeicine may be harmful if swallowed.  

NOTES:  Do not share that product with otehrs.  

MISSED DOSE:  If you miss a dose, aplpy it as soon as remembered; do not use if it is almost time for the next dose.  <br/><br/>Instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usaul dosing schedule.  

STORAGE:  Stroe the reconstituted gel in the refrigerator but do not freeze.  <br/>The packet form of that drug may be stored at room temperature.]]></description>
